Consumed A silent film about mental illness
I am interested in how the camera captures the soul, allowing me to focus on the Photogénie, the human spiritual connection, and the expressive qualities that translate through the lens of theatrical performance. Working in silent film enables me to express what my words have a hard time conveying. It is a medium that pushes my ideas to visual extremes, where the absence of voice is acted out by living faces that laugh and agonize.
I use filmmaking as a therapeutic tool that forces me to face my inner demons and tell stories rooted in trauma and mental illness.

German expressionism inspires the aesthetic distortions of my fantasy-driven narratives. I draw on Chiaroscuro lighting to manipulate light and shadow as a metaphor that conveys the human mind’s darker moods. Through the use of elegant couture costuming, flesh hook pulls for an unsettling interpretation of human agony, and the movement of Butoh to create a grotesque and disfiguring display of movement, the juxtaposition of the extremes creates a visually exciting narrative.
